EDI's Thanksgiving Service Group #1 was busy building relationships with co-workers in addition to 20 brand new dressers for Bridging! The dressers help those transitioning out of homelessness and poverty into our local communities. Holiday Charity Event
Prior to taking our team out for a holiday dinner to give thanks and celebrate the upcoming holidays, we divided into teams working to help four chosen charities which provide a broad scope of services to a variety of groups.
We will share more pictures and details of our event in the coming weeks. We hope everyone has wonderful holiday season with family and friends!
DOING MORE WITH LESS!
- More control over forming speeds allows material specifications to be opened up, thereby reducing the need for specialty materials, which reduces material cost while improving availability.
- Ability to vary ram speeds during forming operations reduces the need for secondary forming operations, as well as annealing after forming.
- Better control of ram speed enables in-die operations, such as tapping, hardware insertion and fine blanking applications, thus reducing secondary operations.
- Power of a 330 ton press with the energy consumption of a smaller press! Up to 40% energy reduction from similar sized mechanical presses with a reduced peak energy load.
CUTTING COSTS WHILE EXTENDING DIE LIFE!
- Increased control of ram speed, as well as forward and reverse tonnage, increases tool life while lowering tool maintenance and repair costs, and reduces initial tool build costs by allowing for reduced tool component thicknesses.
- Dwell, pendulum and in-stroke vibration features reduce the need for re-strike and secondary draw stations, thereby reducing tool size and cost.
- Slowing forming speed reduces heat generation, which reduces the amount of lubrication required and the need to polish form rails as there is less material pickup.
- Since many tool misfeeds take place at the beginning and end of coils, our increased coil capacity reduces the likelihood of tool-damaging mishaps by reducing the number of coil changes required.
SLASHING CHANGEOVER TIMES!
Our new feed line has an automatic peeler, traveling coil car, and threading table, which greatly reduce coil change time. With increased coil size capacity, we reduce the number of coil changes needed, thereby increasing production up time up to two fold.
Our controller stores 200 job “recipes,” including parameters such as shut height, stroke profile, coil feed length, material straightener settings, and die protection settings – not only saving setup time, but insuring run-to-run consistency.
With programmable reduced stroke, our press is easily opened to full stroke with full control of ram speed and location to within .004” through the hand wheel, while maintaining full tonnage, to allow for improved debugging and in-press tool maintenance.
PRODUCTIVITY MEETS POWER!
DRAW FORMING IS OUR SPECIALTY! The dwell, vibration and pendulum features a servo press has to offer allow us to better control material flow similar to a hydraulic press.
FASTER THAN A MECHANICAL PRESS! Variable stroke length increases strokes per minute by minimizing stroke distance specific to the application so you only pay for the press time your part requires.
SITUATIONAL SPEED AND CONTROL! Programmable ram speed allows “working” portions of the stroke to be slowed and non-working portions to be sped up for the most efficient and effective blend of productivity and power.
EDI welcomes new manager
We are proud to announce Steve Smith as our Engineering/Tooling Manager! Welcome to the Engel Diversified team!! Steve brings many years of tooling experience to EDI as well as a great understanding of the industry.
Speed! Power! Flexibility!
It’s hard not to be elated when a beautiful piece of equipment like the Aida Servo 330 ton stamping press with an integrated COE feedline gets installed running!! It’s speed, forming control and customized programmability are just a few of the features we are looking forward to putting to work for our valued customers!
🎁 Happy Holidays from our EDI family!!
We decided to shut down the shop for a day and celebrate the holidays by giving back via Feed My Starving Children followed by a company holiday meal! Our shift packaged 217 boxes ManaPack meals which equates to 46,872 meals!!
We're at it again!!
We recently took delivery of the newest work center the Haas VF-4 SS VMC which adds to our ever-expanding list of capabilities.
New hire at EDI
We would like to welcome Jim Bokelmann to the EDI team as our newest Sales Estimator! Jim brings an extensive background of fabrication and estimating to this role.
CONGRATULATIONS!
It is with great pleasure we announce our recent certification to the new ISO 9001:2015 standards!! Congratulations to the entire team for all their hard work, we are proud of each and every one of your accomplishments!
High tech addition to tool and die department
It’s finally here!! We are anxious to get our latest addition to our equipment lineup up and running. The addition of the Sodick VL 600Q to our tool room not only increases out in house capabilities is give us greater control of our tool build schedule and corresponding lead times!
Welcome to the team!
It is with great pleasure we welcome Ken Weis to the Engel Diversified team in the role of Tool & Die Designer!
New Sales Rep
We are excited to announce Randy Price as the newest addition to EDI family! Randy joins us as our in-house Sales Representative with many years of tooling, manufacturing as well as sales, estimating and customer service experience.
