ENGEL DIVERSIFIED INDUSTRIES ANNOUNCES CRAIG RIX AS PRESIDENT

(Jordan, MN) Craig Rix, a thirty-five-year veteran of the metal stamping and tool and die industry, has been named President of Engel Diversified Industries, Inc.

Rix, who has served as General Manager of EDI since late-2021, brings a broad background in tool and die making, metal stamping, and fabrication to the business.  He began his career as a tool and die maker at Master Tool and Die, spent 12 years as a designer with Performance Tool and Die, 11 years managing BTD’s tooling shops, and most recently managed the business development and sales functions as a senior VP at Lake Air Products.  A few of Rix’s many strengths include strategic planning, customer relationship development, change management, process development & improvement, lean manufacturing, supply chain optimization and expense control.

“Craig is a success story of someone who worked his way up in the industry, excelling in a number of roles and gaining the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to help take EDI to the next level,” said Stuart Rubin, the company’s current President.  “He’s a great fit for our company’s culture and values and, given his background, he’s absolutely the right person to assume overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of our business.”

Rubin, who has served as President since late-2016, will transition to the CEO role, focusing on strategic planning, as well as financial and legal matters.  During his tenure as President, EDI’s sales revenue has grown 127%.

How is sub-component manufacturing similar to an oil change?

What do sub-component manufacturing and changing the oil in your vehicle have in common?

Sounds like the opening line of a joke, but it’s not. At some point, it may have made sense to do your own oil changes. However, as our lives change, other higher priority or more rewarding activities demand our attention and the DIY approach needs to be reassessed to determine where our time is best spent. The supply/demand dilemma presents a challenge we’ve all faced and the options are well known. Unfortunately, most of the options involve additional fixed costs, with one exception…outsourcing. Why invest in all the garage modifications and tools required to efficiently change your own oil when it can be done affordably by experts who specialize in the process?

This same strategy applies to sub-component manufacturing; outsourcing to a trusted source who specializes in efficiently producing quality sub-components, such as EDI, allows you to simply issue purchase orders and have the parts arrive at your dock ready for use without tying up valuable resources. This enables you to meet increasing demand while avoiding additional capital expenditures and focusing your scarce, expensive direct labor on the processes you specialize in – utilizing our experience and resources to produce your unique sub-components to meet your customers’ requirements.

Let’s talk about how we can help you reallocate your valuable resources!
